AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): Just after the opposition congress unearthed the internal audit report of Agartala Government Medical College and GB Pant Hospital which revealed serious misappropriation of money, Tripura government is eyeing forward to take a legal action against the involved employees or the workers. The state health directorate has recently constituted a committee to review the audit report, mentioned the press communique. In a press communiqué the Directorate stated that in view of the recently unearthed sever embezzlement of money at AGMC and GBP hospital had constituted a committee to review the audit report and file a report based on which the directorate would take a legal action against the culprits.PCC President and Opposition Leader Sudip Roy Barman on July 22 unearthing the multi-crore scam alleged that the preliminary internal audit report on the accounts of the Medical Superintendent at AGMC and GBP Hospital have found serious misappropriation of money for the period from April 1, 2010 to November 30, 2014.However, so far the committee had not yet submitted any report with the health directorate, mentioned the communiqué. Besides the hospital authority had also taken central initiatives in this regard
The audit report also the copy in possession with TIWN, it revealed non preparation of cash analysis and bank reconciliation statement at the end of the month whereas at the end of each month a cash analysis should be prepared in such a way that scheme wise fund left unutilized can be found out easily. But during the scrutiny it was found that cash analysis and bank reconciliation statement was never done on the closing balance at the end of the month.
Congress alleged that the internal audit had revealed a total of Rs. 2 crore 8 lakhs 99 thousands 9 hundred two was misappropriated at AGMC and GBP Hospital.
