AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): In a bid to provide allowance the unemployed youth and to make them self sufficient, recently a local committee meeting is organized in the office of west Tripura district.
The program was headed by local committee president Mistu Sarkar.
With the aim to make the unemployed self-sufficient, Industry and Cultural affairs department workers manager Debabrata Sengupta said that 425 unemployed youth will be provided loan under Prime Minister Employment generation program in this financial year.
Unemployment allowance promised to workers who can’t get jobs under the government’s flagship rural job guarantee programme is not being paid in most parts of the state.
Unemployment benefits will be given only to those registering as unemployed, and often on conditions ensuring that they seek work and do not currently have a job.
Initiative has been taken to promote Indigo cultivation in the west district and an amount of 45 lakh 61 thousand is sanctioned. He further said that there are 4000 indigo farmers in the district.
