UDAIPUR, July 16 (TIWN): Following the deplorable condition of Udaipur Salgora road, resentment is prevailing among the residents of Salgora under Udaipur Sub-division.

Strewn with upto one feet ditches, the bad condition of the road here is resulting in jerking to the two-wheeler drivers, the risk of four wheelers toppling in these ditches always run high. It's not just common motorists who are facing a lot of inconvenience due to bad roads, but the transporters too are facing a lot of hardships.

The negligence of State Government in proper construction of roads appears to be night mare for the people. The roads are filled with stone chips and cements, which appears as a leading cause of deadly accidents. The only thing visible on the road is ditches and pot holes resulting to accidents and inconvenience in travelling.

The 22 km long road at Salgora under Udaipur sub-division is in miserable condition, creating problems for the localites to walk through. The road is full of clays and mud and in most of the places water is clogged.

Especially the school goers face serious troubles while travelling with bi-cycles.

The poor road conditions have increased the vehicle maintenance costs of auto rickshaws as compared to their counterparts at Udaipur which resulted in the cause of accident.  According to some drivers and bike riders, the repairing works and construction of roads are in dismal condition by Public Works Department (PWD).

The auto drivers alleged that they have reported the issue to the concerned department many times but so far no action is taken for renovation of the road.

The residents claimed that, though huge amount of money are being invested for the renovation, a greater amount is being looted by the corrupt officials. Frequent road accidents are a daily routine.

"The road is filled with dust garbage and is shambles. Everyday accidents take place on this stretch due to poor condition of roads. The entire area has turned into a death trap," said an agitating resident.

We have made repeated appeals to the authorities to carry out repair work, but the civic body has turned a blind eye to our plight," said another resident of the area.
