KHOWAI, June 28 (TIWN): With the negligence role of Forest Dept., the villagers have undergoing massive destructions due to the disturbances caused by 2 wild elephants at Kalabagan village in Kalyanpur. Suddenly these elephants came and started to damage the house of the locals, due to which people becoming afraid called the police, but all were in vain. No police force had been sent to take control over the situation, locals alleged.

According to the reports, the elephants also brought a huge loss to the crops, including rubber gardens for which the villagers are exhibiting their pique over police dept.’s carelessness role.

Villagers also alleged that in 2011 they had voiced about the problem with the Forest Dept. as well as with the police along with a written form. But since day, no initiative has been taken from them.

Moreover, during the attacking time by wild elephants when people were running, many children and old people had been injured. Many houses had been destroyed, as per record says.

According to the reports, the villagers namely Kajal Deb, Gouranga Dhar, Priyolal Deb and Bhanurani Deb are the highest victims of that incident. They have shown their strong agitation against the duty of the police to whom they can not rely anymore.

Villagers also said that police force often show their active participation when they are informed about any illegal activities, but attacking by wild animals keeps no value to them, though it’s a life threatening issue, said Kajal Deb.
