KAMALPUR, June 23 (TIWN): History of Surma would be reconstructed or better to say would be re-shuffled after four days on 27th June. The history of CPIM party would also be reshuffled in this process. The reconstruction of history in case of Surma would be the change of their representative. In place of the erstwhile and deceased MLA Sudhir Das according to the presently scenario Anjan Das would hold the baton. And in the case of CPIM party, another person would increase the list of the party’s list of representatives.

The record of CPIM to be unbeaten at Surma would remain intact. These facts would surely make the CPIM and its supporters far more jubilant.

But at the same time the saga of vitality and reconstruction also raised a serious matter about the future of the CPIM Party, especially in the context of kamalpur and the State at large. For two to three years before the untimely death of Sudhir Das, the cold clash between Sudhir and Anjan was an open secret even among the commoners of the subdivision. Sudhir, a veteran leader who became the MLA for consecutive five terms started his career from student’s politics. He once held the portfolio of Urban Development Minister. He remained the Chairman of TRTC. He also was the Chairman of Tripura Handloom and Handicrafts Corporation.

On the contrary, Anjan Das, an ambiguous leader remained the State Vice President of SFI. He remained the Chairperson of Salema Panchayat Samiti. He at present holds the post of party Sub divisional Secretary of Kamalpur. Regarding different issues the disunity of Sudhir and Anjan was a very common matter. Even the two leaders went to the extent of not talking with each other. As a result the workers and supporters of the party at Surma got divided into two camps.

Now after the death of Sudhir, Anjan became the candidate and the scenario changed. Surely Anjan would grab a huge win in the bye-election. But importantly, many of the supporters of Sudhir’s camp would not gaily accept or join hands with Anjan. Anjan, with dual responsibility of Party Secretary and MLA should now be planning for total betterment of party and Surma. And to do this he should ensure active participation of all factions of his Party at least. Would the tradition of popular inter-party clash let Anjan do this smoothly or not is the matter to be seen in future.
