Increasing CPI-M’s turmoil in Khowai harassed 2 persons: police kept the victim in lock up for whole night

KHOWAI, June 23 (TIWN): Two local persons of Khowai had brutally beaten up by Khowai local CPI-M cadres on June 21st. A locatlite of Khowai Maharaj Bazaar (Puran Bazaar) namely Debashish Deb, S/O- Kali Deb, a renowned businessman of that area came at his home on June 21st along with his one friend.

Basically Debashish Deb lives in Agartala for his own business-purpose. On June 21st night when he came to his house, he was called by his 3 friends out of the house asking for Rs. 5000/ which they ought to get from him. After they had gone, 10 members of CPI-M local party in drunken condition came to Debashish’s house beaten him and his friend very cruelly.

According to the reports, to show off the power as “party members”, during the night Debashish Deb’s Wagoner Car with the number of TRO1AM 0324 had been broken down by those 10 persons, which was placed before the Puran Bazaar UBI branch. The matter doesn’t stop here, after an hour, Khowai police came to Debashis’s house and pulled Debashish from his home and the whole night they kept him in the police custody.

On June 22 Debashish Deb had lodged a written complaint against those 10 CPI-M cadres, and gave the main allegations against Ratan Saha, Jiban Pal, 2 leading members of CPI-M. But surprisingly neither police gave any receive copy to Debashish Deb nor they arrested any of the accused persons.

Talking to TIWN local people said that Khowai Police is violating the whole system. They further mentioned that may be Debashish Deb is guilty in some way but police’s duty is to investigate any case properly, which they are not doing. Polices’ activity has heavily distressed the locals and they have arrayed their displeasure over the incident.
