AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Along with the whole World, the State on Sunday also observed the first ever International Yoga Day with full enthusiasm.

Various organizations including Boarder Security Force (BSF), Assam Riffles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and many other holds Yoga demonstration and practice session to celebrate the nationwide International Yoga Day.

As part of the celebration, 2500 families of Assam Rifles have participated at the demonstration. Reportedly, On the occasion of world’s first International Yoga Day all the NCC camps of various schools and Colleges participated at the Assam Rifle ground. Around 4000 cadet participated at the programme observed on Sunday.

The Boarder Security Force (BSF) at the Akhaura Checkpost also enthusiastically participated in the celebration of the Yoga Day.

Along with the whole State, students of all the educational institutions in the South Tripura district also celebrated the day. More than 150 students of Belonia Vidyapith School and Taikourma English Medium School today assembled in Belonia Vidyapith Playground to celebrate International Yoga Day.

Yoga offers a simple, accessible and inclusive means to promote physical and spiritual health and well-being. Further, several initiatives have been taken in the all the districts, Sub-divisions, and blocks to observe the first ever International Yoga day.

The UN General Assembly had in December last year adopted an India-led resolution, supported by over 175 UN member states, declaring June 21 as 'International Day of Yoga', recognising that "Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being".

The day kicked off with Prime Minister Participation at the massive Yoga demonstration at the Rajpath.
