AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing ‘International Yoga Day’, Sri Krishna Mission School on Friday,enthusiastically participated in the yoga demonstration in the School Assembly hall.
On the occasion of world’s first International Yoga Day the teachers along with the students will be participating at the programme on June 21, said Principal B. Das of Sri Krishna Mission Schools.
Appreciating the celebration of the Yoga Day, Principal B. Das said that for the last 14-years every day before the assembly, the School makes the students to practice yoga. Enhancing about benefits of practicing of yoga, B. Das stated the practice of yoga among the students leads them to keep themselves healthy and stress free which help the students to study well and also to be healthy. It also helps to improve immunity of the students with better intuition.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted an India-led resolution declaring June 21 as 'International Day of Yoga'. This comes less than three months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea.
It was introduced by India's Ambassador to the United Nations Asoke Mukerji and also 175 nations joined as co-sponsors, the highest number ever for any resolution in the 193-member UN General Assembly.
