KAMALPUR, June 11 (TIWN): Once being the pride of both the locale and the trumpeting leadership, the dream hospital of former deceased Health Minister of the state Bimal Singha, the Bimal Singha Memorial hospital turned into a den of utter mismanagement and embezzlement.

The BSM Hospital turned into a den of mismanagement and inconvenience for a long period of time. After several publications in TIWN, the authority adopted the policy of temporary maintenance of some problems. But the root of the problems remained untouched. And as a result, the patients and patient parties got deprives of the minimum and bare necessity of water in the premise for last three to four months continuously. The patients had to manage water on their own. The SDMO reluctantly shed responsibility by blaming the collapse of the water storage tank in the hospital and no remedy adopted for solving the problem.

More seriously, for last two fiscals’ different allotments of NRHM being embezzled happily by the NRHM staffs and the Hospital authority. According to the source, highly placed in the NRHM district office, in last two fiscals almost 12, 00, 000 rupees got embezzled here from the allotments and sanctions of different training programs. Moreover, the section of NEHM staffs allegedly got hand-in-gloves with some unscrupulous chemists. Taking the advantage, those chemists charged different price at different times for the same drugs to grab huge bills. Even the hospital authority knew all these and used to appreciate the irregularities to pocket money. Now, the hospital authority became so busy in pocketing money that, they hardly have any time to provide water to the patients!
