Assembly By-Election: Political Parties on top gear to raise victory flag with last minute preparations

AGARTALA June 10 (TIWN): In the ensuing by-election of the Pratapgarh and Surma Constituency, both the political parties completely devoted themselves in the last minute preparations. Everyone is busy in leaving no stones unturned. The contesting parties had tried their heart and soul to make their mark. But the main contest will be taken place between ruling party CPI-M and BJP.

They are adopting all possible measures to win the elections in order to exist their position at Tripura. After the recently concluded TTAADC Election, the parties had now turned the bird’s eye in the upcoming by-election. Candidates of both the parties had gone to every household to attract the voters towards them.

The parties had reiterated its call to the misguided youth still sticking to the wrong track of extremism, to realize the futility of their cause and evaluate the situation on the basis of their own experiences. The CPI (M) said there still is scope to abjure arms, return to the peaceful democratic process and join the developmental activities.

.Encouraged by this positive verdict of the urban population, the party workers urged upon its workers and supporters to leave no stone unturned in order to ensure victory in the upcoming election. t is to be mention that Congress had received a terrible defeat in the election. Despite that Congress had also received a serious defeat in the Chawmanu, Manu- Chailengta and Damchara –Kachuchara constituency. They got defeated at Damchara constituency with a margin of 11000 votes. Whereas CPI-M State Committee would review the cause of decreased margin of 9 percent in the election.

It may be recalled here that Election Commission of India (ECI) on May 27, had issued an official notification for by elections at Tripura Counting of votes would be held on June 30, ECI notification. Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be on June 11. The ECI on its notification declared that the polling for byelections in the mentioned state would start from8:00 AM and would continue till 5:00 PM. The elections shall be completed by July 2, 2015; issued ECI The commission has decided that the voter’s identification shall be mandatory in the aforementioned by-elections at the time of poll. Electoral photo identity card (EPIC) shall be the main document of identification of a voter.

The model of conduct shall come into force with immediate effect in the districts in which the whole or any part of the Assembly Constituency going for byelection is included, ECI decided. It shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and the state govt. concerned. However the State Election Commission is entrusted to issue the notification for the byelections on June 3, 2015. It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming byelections slated to be held on June 27, 2015
