AGARTALA / DHAKA, June 9 (TIWN):The ruling Left Front led by CPI-M is all set to launch agitation against the attitude of NDA Govt led by Narendra Modi. According to the sources the ruling CPI-M is very much annoyed with Modi Govt. over LBA signing agreement and flagging of 2 bus services. The ceremony was held in Dhaka in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee. But most unfortunate and irritating part was the non invitation of Tripura Chief Minister, Assam chief minister as well of Meghalaya whereas all the three states have boundary with Bangladesh. Tripura bounded by Bangladesh in three sides. Under the LBA, these three states either loader or benefited. Question arises when Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya’s interests are involved why the three chief ministers were not invited to become PM entourage ? During the UPA Govt. time, the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh invited all these three Chief Ministers including Mamata Banarjee to be a part of PM’s entourage. All the three Chief Ministers went to Dhaka along with PM Manmohan Singh. Though Mamata Banarjee refrained herself at that time but that time Mamata was kept in forefront at Dhaka. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has raised similar question. Majority of Tripura people still searching for answer why Tripura CM Manik Sarkar was ignored during Agartala-Dhaka-Kolkata bus service at Dhaka as no representatives of Tripura were present in this June 6 historic event.

According to Rahul Gandhi the role of Mamata is double standard.  A good number of Journalists who witnessed signing of LBA agreement were whispering by saying, where is Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. Salam Jubeir, chief reporter of Bangladesh’s leading vernacular daily Sangbad was surprised following Manik Sarkar’s absence n the ceremony. Sohrab Hossain has opined saying that how it can be?  Rightly they have raised a vital question.

Tripura have cordial brotherly relationship with Bangladesh. Tripura has also played vital rule during Bangladesh liberation war. Tripura received cordially the helpless, tortured Bengalies. It was Tripura’s people who sacrificed a lot.  Bangladesh is fully aware of the contribution of Tripura’s people. It was those people who extended their full supports and helping hands etc.

Sheikh Hassina  honoured Tripura’s Chief Minister for his overall active support in liberation war. Tripura also honoured Bangladesh Prime Minister few years back and arranged a grand civic reception at Assam Rifle ground. Tripura Central University honoured Hassina conferring D lit. Moreover Tripura-Bangladesh have such cordial relation that can't be forgotten, either by Bangladesh or by Tripura’s people.

It to be mentioned here that the most of the Bengali speaking people living in Tripura came from Bangladesh. Their forefathers’ residents were in the erstwhile East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). Their relatives have been till living there. Apart from that Tripura has become business destination of Bangladeshi products.

Mamata Banarjee flagged of Kolkata-Agartala bus service at Nabanna. On 6th June  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina jointly flagged off two bus services at Dhaka. These services are Agartala-Kolkata-Dhaka, Kolkata-Agartala via Dhaka.

All the three signatories boarded in the buses and congratulated passengers and journalists. The ceremony happened to be more lovely, if Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was invited by the PMO or Either Bangladesh Prime Minister. A good number Tripura’s people have opined that it is clearly insult for Tripura which played vital role during Bangladesh Liberation war.

So far information Prime Minister Nagendra Modi maintains good relation with Tripura Chief Minister. Its instance is also here: PM was in Tripura on 1st December 2014 to dedicate Palatana to nation. During brief visit PM meet with council of ministers at state Secretariat.  Question has raised, when PM maintains good relation with Tripura Chief Minister then what situation has aroused to drop Manik Sarkar from PM entourage?

In federal system state centre relation is always cordial. Union has no right to take any vital decision without the consultation with the state. Observers say that it’s a clear violation of centre-state relation. A spoke person of CPM alleged that Tripura’s CM was not invited due to political reason. From the instance it was being cleared that Tripura may be deprived or politically victimized in future only for as they are Leftist.  Since last one year Govt. alleging that state is not getting NREGA fund in time; and Union Govt. is imposing new conditions to get NREGA fund and other schemes’ funds. Keeping all these in mind the party in power decided to launch agitation shortly.
