Girls outshine boys in 2015 HS examinations, Board declares results

AGARTALA, June 6 (TIWN): The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Saturday declared the results for 2015 higher secondary examinations. With 83.01 per cent the 8, 001 girls across the state have outshine 10, 078 boys who managed to score 79.63 per cent in this year higher secondary examinations conducted by the Tripura board. TBSE HS+2 topper Arijit Debnath - 460 marks from BB Institutions.

A total of 12, 656 male candidates across the state appeared for the HS examinations this year out of which 10, 078 candidates passed with aggregate of 79.63 per cent whereas a total of 9, 639 females across the state appeared for the examinations this year out of which 8, 001 candidate passed with an aggregate of 83.01 per cent.  

However, a total of 22, 300 candidates this year appeared for the examinations out of which 18, 079 candidates passed with an aggregate of 81.07 per cent this year while previous year the pass percentage rested at 76.81 per cent. The pass percentage has increased this year compared to last previous years.

From the year 2009 the pass percentage has comparatively increased up till the year 2015.

Declaring the results on Saturday TBSE President Mihir Kanti Deb said, “out of a total of 353 schools which participated this year HS examinations only 20 schools secured 100 per cent pass whereas there is no school who scored 100 per cent fail like previous year.”

During the 2014 a total of 12 schools across the state scored with 100 per cent pass comparatively this year the per cent has increased with 20 schools, Deb said.

Besides, most surprisingly this year and worrying the future of the state in regard of subject performance only 1, 116 candidates out of 3, 273 candidates managed to pass Mathematics. The pass percentage is 34.10 per cent.

This year in the higher secondary examinations South District of the state has topped with pass percentage of 84.84 per cent. A total of 3, 603 candidates appeared for the examinations this year from the south district of Tripura out of which 3, 057 candidates passed the examinations.

The examinations this year has commenced on March 2 and within 66 days the results have been declared on June 6 by the TBSE. There were a total of 54 examinations centers and a total of 67 venues.
