BELONIA, June 5 (TIWN): On the occasion of World Environment Day, 168bn BSF planted a total of 550 plants at Nath Para Boarder Out Post (BOP) on June 5.
During the programme, 168bn BSF Brijesh Kumar, Deputy Commandant N. K Choudhury and Sharashima Panchayat Pradhan along with other remained present.
Addressing the programme, 168bn BSF Brijesh Kumar said that World Environment Day (WED) is an annual event that aims to be the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action.
He also urged the students to plant trees and to understand the importance of the planting trees as they are the future of the nation. To reduce global warming, people must plant trees and take care of the environment which would to secure their future.
He further stated that people must stop deforestation to control the rising temperature in the state as well as in the world.
Different schools have also participated at the programme and performed various activities during the programme.
WED celebration began in 1972 and has grown to become the one of the main vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action.
It is celebrated across the globe to create awareness about the importance of protecting planet Earth and mother-nature.
