Polling centre for 13-Pratapgarh Constituency to be changed

AGARTALA, June 4(TIWN): Polling centre for the ensuing by-election of 13-Pratapgarh Constituency is likely to be shifted from Kobirajtilla Anganwadi Centre to Thakurpolli Anganwadi Centre under ward number 30.

Talking to SDM Manik Lal Das, he stated that a proposal is prepared to shift the polling centre from Kobirajtilla Anganwadi Centre to Thakurpolli Anganwadi Centre under ward number 30. This rampant decision is adopted, as the pre-determined place, for holding the polling at Kobirajtilla Anganwadi centre which is undergoing construction and doesn’t have the proper infrastructure for holding the elections.  

SDM Manik Lal Das along with other political party leaders visited the newly selected spot on Thursday morning.

However, Counting of votes would be held on June 30, ECI notification. Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be on June 11. The ECI on its notification declared that the polling for by­ elections in the mentioned state would start from 8:00 AM and would continue till 5:00 PM. The commission has decided that the voter’s identification shall be mandatory in the aforementioned by-elections at the time of poll. Electoral photo identity card (EPIC) is mandatory for the identification of a voter.

It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming by-elections scheduled to be held on June 27, 2015
