KHOWAI, June 4 (TIWN): Following the incident of Khowai Chakhu Bosti area, where a middle aged man was brutally beaten up by the Jawans of BSF 83rd battalion on Monday late night, Khowai Champahour Police Station OC Shyamal Debbarma confirmed the allegation against BSF Jawan for attacking the civilian, identified as Bimalendu Debroy.

Reportedly, on Monday late night the victim’s daughter along with her mother Shilpi Rani went outside of their house for natures call. In the mean time, the BSF Jawans of 83 battalions, taking the advantage of darkness tried to molest the lady Silpi Rani in drunken condition, said locals.

Getting alarm, husband Bimalendu Debroy rushed to the spot for rescuing his wife and was allegedly cruelly beaten up by the Jawans of BSF and was left with serious injury in his head.

According to report, the victim was gheroued in his home by the BSF Jawans and also was not allowed to go to the hospital in the night for treatment. Later, on Tuesday morning the women of the village somehow managed to send him to Khowai hospital for treating his injuries.

Following the incident a huge resentment sparked off between the locals and the BSF. It is alleged that BSF ALFA company officer Rakesh Kumar is equally involved in this incident along with several other officers, said locals.However, Bimelendu’s wife Shilpi Rani had lodged a complaint in Champahour Police Station on June 2nd and also informed the incident to DM, SP, SDPO, and SDM.

It is important to say that following the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, BSF has also lodged a counter complaint on Wednesday against that victim’s family, mentioning that the victim-family along with some other families of the area are involved in illegal smuggling of banned goods with Bangladesh and to retaining the trend the illegal business with Bangladesh and on that very day the BSF employees had entered the house for investigation.

They further mentioned in their complain that, while investigating at the house argument broke out between BSF and the families and accidently the victim was left injured, completely denying the point that they have injured Bimalendu  Debroy.

Talking to TIWN reporter, Khowai Champahour Police Station O.C Shyamal Debbarma said that after investigations, BSF Jawans are found guilty of attacking common people.

And based on the complaint lodged by BSF Jawans, O.C Shyamal Debbarma further said that the BSF Jawans don’t have the authority to enter the house of any civilian with any prior authentic permission.

Police will further produce the charge sheet against the BSF Jawans in the court and investigation is going on.
