Agartala, June 3 (TIWN): The vaccination programme for the deadly disease of Japanese Encephalitis appears to be a nightmare rather than a life saving drug. The report of the death as well as to fell sick after taking the vaccine have become a daily routine recently.

On Wednesday, one child named as Anamika Debnath (5 and half years) of Champaknagar fall ill after the vaccination.  Before that report of the duo deceased, identified as Kritika Das and Ariful Islam Maisan from Sepahijala District died is also focused.  Kritika, a sixth standard student died at GBP Hospital in Agartala following the dose of the anti-Japanese Encephalitis vaccination. Her parents lodged a complaint against two multi-purpose workers who had administered the vaccination despite she was suffering from high fever at the concerned police station.

“She had a high fever for few days. Despite knowing this, her headmaster asked the two MPWs to administer her vaccination. Within few moments, she started feeling uncomfortable and we brought her to a local health center- told parents.

Besides, it is worthy to mention here that while launching the nationwide Japanese encephalitis vaccination programme here in Tripura, the department has not publicized the vaccination and its effects and complications. Following which a section of parents or the guardians are not aware of it and as a result they carried their children to get them pushed with the vaccination.

Besides, what made it more interesting is that after the three children were admitted to the hospitals here, the doctors have failed to cure them and as a result 2 children died. It may be recalled that based in the importance,  Tripura government has selected three districts of total eight districts to launch immunization programme against Japanese Encephalitis slated to begin from Saturday.
