Four wanted thieves caught red handed by Tripura police

AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): It has nearly become impossible to leave behind an empty house. Keeping the police administration on toes, the theft incidents are increasing at Agartala in an alarming rate. Recently, police personnel of East Agartala Police station have nabbed four wanted thieves from By-Pass road along with a car on Thursday night.

The thieves are identified as Rakesh Majumder(27) son of Motilal Majumder of Surjyamaninagar, Sankar sarkar (28) popularly known as Kalu son of Sunil Sarkar of Badarghat Matripalli, Mithun Miaa popularly known as Mamon son of Ramzan Miaa of Raznagar Doshomighat, and Raju Debnath(24 ) also known as Pappu  son of Swapan Debnath of Rajnagar.

Sources said that the police got information from the investigative cell and accordingly they planned their trap to nab the thieves. Reportedly on Thursdaywhile patrolling at the By-pass road they suspiciously detained the car and arrested them on the spot.

Police further said that these four thieves were planning a big theft case in and around the state. They were heading towards the spot in a car for stealing in some spot. However, getting alarm police actively arrested the thieves and detained the car bearing number TR03C0260.

East police station OC Satyendra Basu Roy Chowdhury said that these thieves were earlier accused of stealing goods, cash and gadgets worth hefty amount from different shops as well as different households of different areas in different cases. He also said that police were chasing them for past many days as many cases were charged against them.

However, the thieves are produced before the court and police is further interrogating the accused.

In another incident, a theft case is also reported from a house of a Gangail Road opposite to Ramkrishna mission on Thursday night. Reportedly, the thieves, taking the advantage of an empty house entered the house of Niyati Sarkar and stolen a laptop and other goods from the house.

Police is further investigating the case.
