UDAIPUR, May 29 (TIWN): The aim of providing quality care to the common man has got severely hit by acute shortage of doctors and specialists at Udaipur Tripurashundari Sub-Divisional hospital. The hospital has only 3 numbers of doctors assigned for three different shifts of morning, evening, and night.

The hospital is running on the basis of only four people and among them 3 are the doctors who are solely responsible for doing all kind of medical treatment as there is no specialist appointed for any kind of diseases. And even if there are any doctors assigned as specialist they are bound to do all kind of medical treatment of the patient as at the several shift of the day to night only one doctor are available at one time.

Lacking a comprehensive medical study regarding any medical treatment may lead to complications for the patients and sometime also to death also. Sometime during any emergency no proper medical attention is provided to the patient as there are no equipments and no medical biography of the doctors to treat particular medical problem.

Among the countable number of four people one man is appointed as the SDMO identified as Bishnu Chandra Dey who is always busy with his schedule of meetings, holding seminars and other official work of the hospital. Now question arises how a hospital can run only on the basis of 3 doctors.

Allegedly, the situation at the existing hospital is chaotic as there are not enough posts of specialists to run the major operations. This unit is also lying idle owing to lack of facilities.  A patient family alleges that "It will require specialist doctors to run the hospital 24x7 apart from technicians for handling equipment which have not been made available as yet in the hospital.

Reportedly, under this critical circumstance, the available doctors do in case of emergency cases refer the patients to the referral hospital which often falls very expensive for the patient family  as they have to  shift the patient in the referred hospital to provide immediate medical treatment.

The newly developed Sub-divisional hospital has failed to improve the health service facility at Udaipur Tripurashundari Sub-Divisional hospital for lack of doctor, proper infrastructure and human resources.
