AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Despite Tripura police underway to caught hold several travel agencies on charge of black marketing of air tickets here in Agartala, allegations were raised against a section of travel agencies recently with the customers complaining the agencies are booking false tickets in the name of customers and are taking a hefty amount from it.

Recently one customer of Agartala GB area complaint that one travel agency at the concerned area had deprived him from going to Kolkata in his scheduled date. He complaint that the travel agency had booked his ticket for Agartala-Kolkata through Indigo airlines, but later when the passenger accordingly went to the airport the indigo airline agency refused to accept his booked ticket saying that no such ticket was booked in the airline.

However later the passenger was not allowed to avail the airline and at the mean time the travel agency which booked the customers ticket called him over phone and said that his ticket could not be booked due to some fault.

The deprived passenger later knocked the door of the travel agency at GB area and seeks reasons. The travel agency then avoiding their fault in booking the air ticket, had again booked the passenger’s ticket scheduling another date.

However such an incident has triggered a huge resentment among the air line passengers with a section of passengers complaining that most of the travel agencies in the city area are continuing their illegal business in the name of booking ticket and are taking hefty fare from the passengers.

It has been witnessed that most of the business man of the city area finding no alternative to their heft profit making business had opened travel agencies at every nook and corner of the city.

Either it is a small or big shop but at least the shops are designed fully well decorated with air conditioned inside and continuing their business in the naming travel agency.

It is to be mentioned here that recently the Tripura police along with the CID are underway to caught hold some of the agencies on charge of black marketing of air tickets. The CID has already listed the agencies and had lodged an FIR with the West Police Station.

Many invalid documents and papers were seized from those agencies by the police. Following reports of bulk booking of air tickets by a section of travel agencies police have raided offices of six agencies in the past two days and collected all relevant documents. None has been arrested yet. But interestingly taking the advantage of the delay in arrest most of the agencies at the heart of the city continuing their illegal business selling air tickets in exchange of hefty amount.
