KHOWAI, May 22 (TIWN): Children of National Orphan Tribal Ashram alleged that they were been deprived of their daily availability of food, said sources.
Detailing about the issue, sources further said that the state government sends the required amount of money for the orphanage on time so that the children can get food and other facilities without any failure. Going to the depth of the issue sources confirmed that the children alleged that in the beginning of the month they are provided food along with sufficient food items but by the end of the month the item levels decrease and also the quality shrinks down.
The children also said that many a time they were deprived of getting food as the foods were enjoyed by teachers and the members of group ‘D’. Now the question arises that if the government sends the money on time and if the authorities are performing their job honestly then why the facility of the orphanage is getting paralyzed.
The problem does not end here, at night no guard remains present at the Ashram gate for the protection of the orphan children, said sources. The Ashram also lacks proper medical facility for the children, added.
There are 2 teachers for the student of class 8 and 5 for class 9 employed at the Ashram. Pramila Debbarma, Annolakhi Debbarma, Shachi Rani Debbarma, Nilabati Debbarma and Debalakhi Debbarma are the employed teachers. Prasanjit Debbarma and Dinesh Debbarma are the night guards, informed sources.
It is further alleged by the children that Superintendent of the orphanage Sujit Sen does not visit much as he is least bothered about the embezzlement going on in the orphanage.
However, when asked about the issue to MLA Padda Debbarma, he could not answer any thing as he was unaware about the situation but he assured that as he has come to know about it he will definitely look after the situation.
