AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pradesh Committee on Tuesday staging a protesting against the post poll violence submitted a deputation with the District Magistrate (DM) west Abishekh Singh at his office. The party alleged, “The ruling CPI-M cadres have targeted the BJP and managed to attack the BJP supporters after the conclusion of the ADC poll this year.”

Talking to TIWN in this regard BJP State President Sudhindra Das Gupta on Tuesday said that he along with other leaders would also meet Director General of Police (DGP) K Nagaraj at the police head quarter and would take up the issue of the violence discovered by the ruling CPI-M party recently, said Das Gupta.

The BJP would also stage a massive protest movement on Tuesday evening across the state.

Das Gupta alleged, “The CPI-M had beaten up their workers, including ADC candidates, in several places in the past 48 hours after announcement of the election result on May 6 and Party cadres of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s constituency at Dhanpur had lodged false complaint against innocent BJP workers.”

Adding he said, “Police acting on behest of the CPI-M cadres registering a case against BJP workers had arrested them.”

However, he also said that on Tuesday when the party had reached the DM office to place a deputation they found DM not present in the office and later they were asked to meet the ADM.  But, interestingly ADM refusing to meet the party delegates lead them to wait for at least 15 minutes claimed party leaders.

The party leaders later staged protests at DM office. The leaders said that following their protest DM has come to the office and has met them and assured them to take a stock of the situation.

Besides, on the sideline of another issue Das Gupta said, “We hoped for better result in this ADC poll, but due to some unavoidable reason we could not reach to the mark.”
