AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Despite gaining another hectic momentum in Tripura Tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council this 2015, certain aspects have of course issued the triumphant Left Front in Tripura. Besides, the elected members of the tribal council are all ready with their hands up to take an oath for another five years with Radhacharan Debbarma likely to be next Chief Executive Member (CEM) of ADC.

The sudden emergence of NLFT baked Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) and its slogan for ‘separate state’ has this time worried the ruiling CPI-M and its Left front govt. here in Tripura with the growing tribal support for the first ever distant to second position in at least six ADC constituencies, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

However the emergence of another national party here in Tripura along with the tribal based political party IPFT, known to be the outlawed of NLFT has on the other way narrowed voting to CPI-M by 9% as compared to 2010 ADC election.

Though, the ruling Left front had expressed its concern over the issue but the emergence of a slogan of “Twipra Land” likely to hit the Left party here in the state. The worried CPI-M has warned that such support might affect the peaceful co-existence between tribal and non-tribal citizens of the state.

Talking to TIWN on Monday present Executive Member of ADC R C Debbarma said that this time they would take up the only strategy from ADC is that to maintain peace and development of the ADC. But interestingly the CPI-M and its Left govt. now have to face another hit with the IPFT never backtracked from their only strategy, “Twipra land” for the tribals.

Besides, the BJP Pradesh Committee which is likely to revamp its party here has been keeping eye to emerge as one of the main opposition to the Left front.

The recent developments in the state’s political scenario has widened up the options of various political parties in the state. The most significant of all is the rise in popularity of the rightist party BJP in the tribal belt of the state where the party became the first choice of nearly eight percentage of the voters in the recently concluded TTAADC election.

The vote share in comparison to the other political parties may not be that significant but the surcharge in the vote percentage compared to it’s previous performance is giving boost to the party think tanks here.

For the first time ever, BJP fielded candidates in 28 TTAADC seats. Consequently, they secured the second position in six constituencies. They are Damchhera, Jampui, Dasda-Kanchanpur, Machmara, Karamchhera and Raima-valley. Nevertheless, CPI-M is endowed with the power to tackle the BJP owing to its strong organizational base in Tripura.

As Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) polls are knocking at the door, CPI-M is girding up its loins to emerge victorious. AMC comprises 35 wards. In the 2010 AMC polls, CPI-M captured 27 wards.
