Udaipur, May 11 (TIWN): Historical remains have been recovered in Udaipur when labours were cutting a canal from Jagannath lake to river Gomati. The water body of Jagannath lake which is polluted by the waste product thrown by the local people, was decided by the Public Health Dept. Govt. of Tripura to swage off into river Gomati in 2014 and the work is progressing under Divisional Executive Engineer Shisir Chiran.
According to the report when the workers were digging a swage to drain off the polluted water of Jagannath lake, they discovered historical remains. The bricks of that stature are the same which were used in the King’s era. According to some people this might be a historical drainage system made by the kings earlier. Some others are guessing that it was an artificial embankment and few are making assumptions for other things. Few are saying that there had been a temple earlier, this might be that temple.
While talking to the Divisional Executive Engineer Shisir Chiran about this matter he told that he had not been informed about this matter till then. But Shisir Chiran after a while again informed TIWN correspondent that he has talked to all the high official engineers about this topic but nobody knew about this.
Shishir chiran also accepted and said, “Yes, we got a wall like stature made inside the soil but we had broken it as far as needed for working progression and the work is normally going now. Whether it is to be mentioned that it was important to inform the archeological department but they didn’t think about this.
