BELONIA, May 11 (TIWN): 100-bedded Belonia Referral Hospital which covers three Sub Divisions, are deprived of getting minimum healthcare services for long times. Every corner of the Hospital is filled with unhygienic garbage. At present, the Hospital has only five doctors. According to the patients, who were admitted in the Hospital, the state government failed to ensure minimum healthcare services to the patients.
The patients have been facing problems including drinking water crisis, dirty atmosphere and inadequate visit of doctors at the Belonia Hospital. Bood Bank, Digital X-ray Machine are also not fully functional. The old sonography machine is also often inactive according to SDMO Dr.Jagadish Nama. Moreover, four senior nurse are retired and among 24 Nurses 5 nurse are in leave due to illness.
Apart from that the medicines, which are being used in prescription by the doctors, often found in the Hospital. The patient parties are bound to purchase the prescribed medicine outside the Hospital. Only Five doctors of the Hospital often refers the patients to Gomati District Hospital / GB Hospital even in case of minor injury. There is a huge lack of care in the hospital. Often the doctors are not doing enough duty due to lack of doctors particularly specialty doctors.
Many complaints are already made by patient parties. Moreover long queue of patients are often seen in the outdoor , business like attitude of the doctor are the major problems faced by patients and patient parties. However, the local people have demanded; improvement of hospitality, staffs ill behaviors, quality awareness and patient centric culture .Health Minister should take active steps to handle the present deplorable condition of the 100 bedded referral Hospital on urgent basis.
