AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): The recent developments in the state’s political scenario has widened up the options of various political parties in the state. The most significant of all is the rise in popularity of the rightist party BJP in the tribal belt of the state where the party became the first choice of nearly eight percentage of the voters in the recently concluded TTAADC election. The vote share in comparison to the other political parties may not be that significant but the surcharge in the vote percentage compared to it’s previous performance is giving boost to the party think tanks here. With the party icon Narendra Modi at the helm of power in New Delhi and the decline in popularity of the arch rival Congress and ideologically opponent CPI(M) in the recently held TTAADC election in the state, the state BJP unit can very righteously put all its effort in order to dethrone the left party from power in 2018 election.

The party has been able to make a mark in the hearts of the educated class of the state as a potential alternative of the main opposition Congress which is waiting its complete white wash from the state politics, thinks political analysts here. The infighting and groupism in the Congress party is indirectly inclining the Congress votebank  towards BJP and the weakening of  the party in the national level is adding pace to the inclination feel the political analysts here.

“Majority of the opposition voters are losing confidence in the Congress party and the alleged understanding of the party top bosses at the central level with the left parties is further giving fuel to the process”, claims one of the supporter of the age old party with clear dismay in his tone.

It may be mentioned here that the BJP think tanks are concentrating more in the northeastern states and giving its all time highest focus in the region. The party has taken up various developmental schemes  in the northeastern states through its’ iconic government at the centre.

According to party strategists here, the BJP top brass is in a mood to strengthen its organisation in the state and is thinking a revamp in the state unit’s organisational set up.

The Municipality election scheduled in December this year, is one such platform where the party can make a rehearsal for the final onslaught in 2018 to dethrone the corrupt Manik Sarkar Government, feel the party supporters here.

According to sources in the BJP central office of  Ashoka Road in Delhi,  the state incharge Sunil Deodhar has been instructed to organise rigorous programmes throughout the state to build confidence in the minds of the common voters towards the party.

Few names are already doing the round in the party president Amit Shah’s mind who could be entrusted with the leadership of the party in the state, claims the source.

It may be mentioned here that the party leadership was not fully satisfied with the organisational strength of the party in the state and after the low attendance in party president’s rally in the capital’s Swami Vivekananda Stadium last month, the poor organisational capacity of the present state leadership was exposed to all.

Only time willsay how the BJP will organise itself in the state and will pose a challenge to the Manik Sarkar led Left Front alliance in the state.
