UDAIPUR, May 9 (TIWN): In yet another act of reckless driving by Maruti car driver in Chanban area under R.K. Pur Police Station one 65 year old man was seriously injured in a road mishap at Chanban on Saturday.

According to police, the 65 year old man was identified as Taruni Mohan Debnath (65) resident of Rajarbagh. While crossing the road one Maruti car bearing number TR03-G-0451 dashed Taruni Mohan Debnath at Chanban.

 As a result Taruni Mohan Debnath suffered several injuries on his body. And he was immediately shifted to GBP hospital for treatment where in the attending doctors said that the condition of Taruni Mohan Debnath was critical.

After getting the information police personnel from R.K. Pur Police Station rushed to the spot and seized the vehicle. But the driver of the vehicle managed to flee away from the spot. Hunt is on to arrest the accused driver, said police.

A specific case has been registered in this regard and investigation is still on, police added.

According to official report, altogether 2581 road mishaps occurred in the last three financial years including 901 road accidents in the financial year 2012 ­12, 855 accidents in the year 2013 ­14 and 363 more road mishaps in the year 2014 till date.
