AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): With the general election to TTAADC knocking at the door, the Pradesh Congress recently brought a serious allegation against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar saying, “Manik Sarkar and its CPI-M party is an ally to murderer and has given birth to the insurgents across the state. “Alleging Sarkar as an ally to the accused of the murder cases, Congress recently said that suspended CPI-M leader Jiten Das and multi-crore scamster Bimal Chakroborty is known to be a close aide of Manik Sarkar. TPCC working President Ashish Saha alleged that Sarkar managed to lead an escape path for Bimal on Bishalgarh MGNREGA multi crore scam, and has been trying now to rescue his another close aide Jiten Das hushing up the case of Kalpana Das murder case. Saha claimed, “Jiten das was expelled from the party only to eye wash the people of the state.”

CM Manik Sarkar earlier during an election campaign has accused Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawala and former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi of encouraging insurgency in the state to evict left front government from the power during 1988 elections. Sarkar also had brought a serious allegation against Assam Rifles brigadier Panwar.

Coming down heavily on the statement of Sarkar Congress leader Ashish Shaha recently claimed, “along with his age Sarkar has been losing his mind and has brought his standard down by making baseless statements in the election campaign.”

Adding to that Saha alleged, “Sarkar is trying to divert the mind of common mass of the state to save his so called clean image by making negative outreach to the people in wake of the ADC election.” Citing an example to his allegation against Sarkar, Ashish Saha said that 15 years had passed by, but Sarkar had not yet tabled the Yousuf Commission report at the assembly over Bimal Sinhha murder case.

Saha alleged that when Sarkar was a minister of Home and Law department here at the state, the state govt. has tried its level best to withdraw the cases against NLFT insurgents and killer but failed, and this proves, “Sarkar is an ally to the insurgents and the murderer,” said Shaha.
