AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): The deprived state govt. employees may get back their smile on July 28, next as the High Court of Tripura has fixed July 28, as the next day of hearing in the Saubhik Roy Bardhan case demanding Central pay benefits for the state government employees here.The two member Divisional bench comprising of Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Subhasish Talapatra will deliver their judgment on July 28 next in the eagerly awaited case. It may be mentioned here that the state government employees are getting only 69% DA as compared to 113% of the central government employees at present creating a difference of 44% among the central and state government employees.Under pressure from various section of the society including the opposition parties here the Manik Sarkar led left government announced central grade pay to the state govt. employees with effect from April 1, 2015 without changing the other benefits like the House Rent allowances, Conveyance allowances, Medical allowances of the state govt. employees.The employees interest related case filed by Saubhik Roy Bardhan on January 27, 2015 in the Divisional Bench of Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Subhasish Talapatra was scheduled for hearing on Monday last but the tricky stand taken by the Government advocate postponed the judgment till July 28 next.
The Chief Justice’s Divisional Bench has directed the Government advocate to file government’s reply on the matter within next 14 days.
