AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): Malaria and Diarrhea again extending its disastrous impact on the hilly areas of the State. However, Government is busy in campaigning of the upcoming TTAADC Election. Sources informed that, in Teliamura ADC village, the residents feel anxious in the extension of malaria and diarrhea. During last couple of days, in Atharamura’s 41 miles area’s Raihamchapar, one child named Boyonti Reang (7) were reported dead due to the effect of malaria. After June early this year Malaria has once again started to make its impact in the lives of Tripura especially in the remote tribal areas. During this time more than 90 deaths occurred. But even after that horrible experience State Govt as well as the Health department did not take the least care about the observatory reports. Executive Summary of ''Report of Visit of NVBDCP Team to Tripura,22nd-27th June 2014" Addl Director of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme( NVBDCP) Dr Avadhesh Kumar categorically highlighted the negligence of Health Department in dealing with malaria epidemic.

Govt has been campaigning over the years that the health care facilities in the state can easily be compared to any other state in the country. But the ground reality is that a majority of the health centers located outside Agartala do not even have moveable transport facilities so that doctors and health staffs can attend to the patients who are suffering from various illnesses. The recent outbreak of malaria epidemic has once again revealed the hollowness of the state govt's claim about Heath services. Rather, it also showed that the funds allocated by the centre from time to time have not been properly utilized.

Reporting on the outbreak of Malaria, NVBDCP  Director Dr Avdhesh Kumar clearly pointed," The outbreak has become extensive mainly due to a system failure from top to bottom(ASHAs to State Health Society & beyond) as evident from the following:

1) Early warning signals were missed in 2nd week of May 2014 in Dhalai District ; NVBDCP team visited 2 districts in 1st week of June 2014 and informed/advised the health authorities

2) DDT spray was delayed

3)Inadequate manpower due to unusual delay in recruitment of NVBDCP contractual staff;and

4) Poor monitoring & supervision mainly due to lack of mobility support"

Environmental status and diarrhea is regarded as a complex and multidimensional topic. Diarrhea is one of the main water-borne diseases considered to be endemic in many regions of the world and brings the major health threats to the world populations, both in tropical and subtropical poor countries. And this small hilly State also stands in the queue. Recently the possibility of diarrhea also outbreaks in Tripura.

Besides engaged in corruption he state government is busy in playing dirty politics, at present from minister to CPIM party workers remain. Busy in putting the stamp in the ADC areas of the State. The ruling CPIM Government is adopting all possible steps to raise their victory flag in the upcoming TTAADC Election and Zilla Parishad Election. Commission. The upcoming ADC election and Zilla Parishad election in state seems to be understated by a section of political fraternities. On the contrary, this might have been an erroneous state of mind, if a bird’s eye is views is kept on the 2018 assembly election amidst the ever changing political polarization. And the same is substantiated by the lessening relevance of the first largest political party of the state and the uprising of the other backed by the ruling party of the nation.
