Agartala, Sept 2 (TIWN) As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the summary revision of the photo electoral rolls (PER) of 60 assembly constituencies of Tripura began Monday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ashutosh Jindal said.
“With the draft publication of PER, the four-month long process of summary revision of the voters’ list has commenced. After completion of all formalities, the final publication of the rolls would be made January 6 next year with January 1 (2014) as the qualifying date of age for new inclusion,” Jindal told reporters.
As per the draft PER, total number of voters in Tripura is 23, 48, 951 including 11,52,274 is female and 11,96,677 male.
“The ECI has made mandatory of the declaration of all voters to inform the authority whether his or her name included in the PER of other places or not,” said Jindal, who was an international observer in national assembly polls in Cambodia recently.
