AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): In the multi-crore MGNREGA scam under Bishalgarh RD Block the state government has been allegedly buying a time on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed with the High Court of Tripura over embezzlement of multi-crore under MGNREGA at Bishalgarh RD block.
According to sources, the government counsels failed to submit counter-affidavits relating to the PIL filed on February 9 and appealed the court to defer the next hearing for two weeks. It is to be mentioned here that, the Court had granted 6 weeks time, probably the last extension of time in this case, for submitting counter affidavits and other relevant documents pertaining to the PIL which will come to an end on March 30.
It is to be mentioned here that after the Rs. 50 crore MGNREGA multicrore scam of Bishalgarh RD Block came to light all the 94 corrupt officials of Bishalgarh RD Block are not coming to office due to which all the remaining work of Bishalgarh RD Block came to an halt. And the local people of the Bishalgarh RD Block are suffering from various problems due to the said reason.
Since after the Bishalgarh RD Block MRNREGA scam had been exposed, the police has failed to arrest all the accused persons against whom the FIR has been lodged with the Bishalgarh Police Station. At first the police under the immense pressure from the opposition party of the state and media, begins their slow and steady race and framed as many as drama in the name of investigation, and amidst the scamster Bimal Chakroborty, who is also the brother of DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakroborty surrendered himself with the court during the eve of Diwali. Later the police taking Bimal into their custody made a dramatic raid into his house but as expected police could not find any documents.
