KHOWAI, March 21 (TIWN): Tripura mother gets three years jail for flushing her three and half months baby down the toilet. Incident occurred at Koroilong village under Teliamura Police Station. The Khowai Additional District and Session Judge Babul Majumder today also fined her Rs. 500. Father escaped due to a lack of witness at the court.

The incident occurred on June 8, 2012, after three and half months old girl child was found alive in the toilet septic tank. Reportedly on the very day one Deepak Singho Rai younger brother of another Nitai Singo Rai went to the toilet during the night hour and heard a baby crying adjacent to the toilet. Later he alarmed the locals about it and found three and half months old baby inside the septic tank of the toilet. The baby was found alive. And it was a child of Deepak’s elder brother Nitai.

However later, getting an alarm police rushed to the spot on the very night and recovered the baby alive from the safetic tank. Khowai PS ASI Rabindra Das filed an FIR against the father Nitai and mother Seema Singho Rai. And today after the investigation has come to an end the Khowai Additional District and Session Court Judge Babul Majumder finding the accused mother Seema Singho Rai guilty sent her to jail for three years and along with fined her Rs. 500.

Besides, father Nitai managed to escape from any further charge due to the lack of witness against him. However, but it is mentionable here that such an injustice to the girl child here at the state Tripura is first of its kind. And it would be worthy enough to comment here that what is more left with such cruel mothers of the state to commit such crimes and punish their own blood for being a girl child.
