AGARTALA, March 15 (TIWN): Student Federation of India (SFI) state unit will organize a two day long inter-college recitation, drama and cultural competition at Sukanta Academy from March 17. The programme will continue till March 18.

Speaking to the reporters at Melarmath today Secretary of SFI Nabarun Deb for the first time the SFI is organizing this kind of programme. In the competition the college students will get a chance to exhibit their skills, he added.

Drama is a powerful tool for developing skills of cooperation and collaboration. Its elements and forms of expression are an inherent part of our cultural and dramatic practices, processes and products, and thus the drama helps to preserve and promote our national heritage, Nabarun Deb added.

Minister for Public Works (Drinking Water and Sanitation) Ratan Bhowmik will inaugurate the competition on March 17.

A total of 24 colleges of the state are going to participate in the competition. Around 375 participants from 24 colleges are going to participate in the competition, he added.
