AGARTALA, March 9 (TIWN): The massive crackdown on the state’s biggest illegal money collection business has brought an end to the long siesta of the CPI (M) party cadres here in Tripura, with the opposition Congress keeps finger crossed eyeing on the development of the CBI raid in Tripura Rose Valley chit fund company. The CBI radar now awaits to open up the faces of some political players behind the mask. However the listed political leaders in Tripura are likely to be interrogated very soon, with the CBI’s Phase-2 visit. Talking to TIWN on Sunday, Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman said the Congress is hopeful over the arrest of the political masterminds who were involved with the illegal business of the Rose Valley here in Tripura. Barman said the raid should not be confined only with the Rose Valley but also others to unearth the crores of money looted in state by the left front backed Chit Fund companies. In 2008, Minister cum Rose Valley agent Bijita Nath inaugurated the new office building of Rose valley at Dharmanagar and charmed people to deposit money in Rose Valley. Bengal Minister Madan Mitra brought under the jail custody for involvement in Saradha scam, the same way Tripura Minister Bijita Nath has also come under the radar of the CBI for her involvement with Rose Valley.

A 25 member CBI team which arrived here on March 4, to carry out special raids had left the state on the very day carrying a huge quantity of papers and documents seized from rose valley office. The CBI sleuths are now examining the docs in the Kolkata office. However after examining the papers the team is expected to come here again to interrogate the masterminds who were involved with the illegal business of the rose valley.

CBI raid recently has brought  suspicion over Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Social Welfare Minister Bijita Nath (ex Rose Valley Agent).

However, CBi raid has now brought a big anxious for a section of Left leaders and the Melarmath cadres.

Talking to TIWN, opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman welcoming the CBI raid here in Tripura recently said that the Congress here is hopeful over the development of the CBI raid. Barman said that the enquiry should not be only confined with the the rose valley, but also other 5 chit fund companies to unearth the massive money loot by the left front prompted chit fund companies here in Tripura. “We are going to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi by this month in demand of the CBI enquiry on the chit fund companies,” Barman stated. Barman talking to TIWN reiterated that the state govt. authorities here in Tripura had issued a trade license to the chit fund companies.

The CBI is apprehending that a scam involving another chit fund firm, Rose Valley, may turn out to be a bigger scandal than Saradha. While the promoters of the rose valley here in Tripura might be in a long sprint to save their clean image. Besides, marking another bad day for Manik Sarkar, it is mentionable here that state science and technology minister Bijita Nath earlier was an agent of the Rose Valley group of company. Therefore it would be wise enough to mention here that the CBI raid here in Tripura might have lead the “Sarkar for poor” – Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to be in a long sprint to save his clean image.

The Rose Valley Group raised as much as Rs 10,281 crore from investors while Saradha firms had mobilised Rs 2,459 crore. Meanwhile the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman who has been demanding CBI probe into the chit fund related cases, looks set to make public inputs collcetd from grievance cell. This may probe fatal for the non banking financial companies who were active at the state once.
