Udaipur, March 8 (TIWN): Slow work on Cold-Storage construction brewing resentments among farmers as cold-storage construction was the primary demand to Govt but recent developments are much below expectation level.
In year 2000, the State Govt started construction of this Cold-Storage at Banduar, Udaipur. In 2012, 23rd March, Agriculture Minister laid the foundation stone and promised that within two years this Cold-Storage construction work would be completed. But instead of two years, already 3 years passed and much work is left to be done.
As a result, the poor farmers are deprived off the facility of their dream “Cold-Storage”. Rs. 3 crores was sanctioned for this purpose so that the farmers can use the facility of this cold-storage and preserve their crops, fruits and vegetables. But presently the people of that area are in loss for not having a cold-storage and recurring financial losses in absence of crop preserving facility.
Manager-in-charge Prashanta Ghosh , BLUE STAR (Company which got work of Cold-Storage) said that they are trying to finish this work as soon as possible. Now it is to be noticed when this work will complete practically after 14 yrs long delay
