Air ticket black-marketing: CID prepares list of travel agencies for overcharging: Final report to be finalized soon

AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Crime Investigation Department (CID) almost completed the investigation in air ticket black-marketing, which caused severe problems to the passengers during the month of December, last year in Tripura. The final report on air ticket black-marketing is likely to be submitted before the court by CID soon, said an official source of CID here today.Based on the published news on the issue, the a team of CID started investigation into air ticket black-marketing from December 12, last after lodging an FIR at West Agartala Police Station under section 157 of IPC, the source added.“The investigation team has conducted raids at 15 air travel agencies in capital city- Agartala during the air ticket crisis period and collected necessary documents including some printed tickets. The team also communicated with some of the passengers in the provided phone numbers in printed tickets and received vital information on the issue”, said the source.According to the source, “The investigation revealed that a few of the top air travel agencies in Agartala had over-charged the passengers in the name of ‘group ticket’ against the original air ticket fares during the air ticket crisis in December, last year.”

The source further stated that the investigation team has reportedly prepared a list of travel agencies who were allegedly engaged in overcharging the passengers in the name of group ticket. “After the completion of further investigation, the CID would frame the final report and submit it before the court soon”, the source added.

It is worthy to mention here that the black-marketing of air tickets not only picked the pockets of commoners but also made a vast number of serious patients worst sufferers as they were not able to fly outside of the state for better treatment due to air ticket crisis.
