KAMALPUR, MAR. 03, (TIWN): Complete irregularity gripped the food storage of Food and Civil supplies department at Kamalpur. Ransom pocketing of money by some officials by illegal handling of rice and the mum of the authority made the consumers to suffer.

The Food and Civil Supplies department of the State had erected a food storage with 100000 metric ton ability at Guradtilla beside the old storage. It was hoped and hyped that, the fair price shops would get the pure and perfect allocation of rice and hence the consumers would get their share perfectly. But the mismanagement in the food storage remained a saga of complete chaos always. In the storage, often the impurities like sand, stone chips got mixed with the rice and then got supplied to the fair price shops. Allegedly, often rice sacks got sold in the open market in cheaper rate from the carrying lorries before entering into the storage. And so impurities got mixed to suppress the irregularity. Importantly, the share of such sale got distributed in proportionate ration from top to bottom. And probably for this, the authority always kept mum but to remedy the situation.
