Few days ago, Tripura State Network of Positive people (TSNP) association of Tripura calls for extending helping hands towards HIV infected persons. . They urged that” If society extends help to them, they can live normally in the society and can come out with a better future. But it is very heart breaking that they are looked down as a down trodden of the society. Besides that the State Government also cannot take proper steps to secure their future as well as to arrange awareness programme to spread message not to disobey those persons.

Further they also alleged that despite specific direction of National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and ministry of health except Agartala Govt Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital, HIV test of pregnant women are not made mandatory in other hospitals. ‘In some cases health workers are not following prescribed precaution in operation theater, which increasing the incidences of HIV positive,’ It is to be mentioned here that,

According to the recent report from the Tripura Aids Control Society (TACS) a total of 143 people including 15 pregnant women were tested HIV positive this year, whereas last year as many as 72,000 blood samples were tested of which 225persons were found to be positive and 70 pregnant women tested HIV positive in the past three years. Currently there are 68 centres for HIV test in the state which would rise to 82 by the next year.

But the State Government though admits the claim, but presented some minor excuses to cover the matter. Government says that before 2006, the number of HIV tested centre are low in number. So, it is not possible to stop the havoc of this deadly disease.  Besides this, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other Ministers is favoring all the ongoing scams of the state similarly he also failed to protect the lives and properties of the women of the state. The CPIM government is unwilling to act against the scam, CPIM government has completely failed to check rise in prices of essential commodities. At present from minister to CPIM party workers remain deep necked in corruption. CPIM government over issues of spurious drug, atrocities against women, corruption, malfunctioning of PDS, chit fund, deterioration of law and order, underdevelopment of tribal people and deprivation of employees during the agitation. The tightlipped gesture of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar over the increasing crimes and vowed to intensify party’s agitation across the state. He also urged the public to condemn the role of Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio. The uninterrupted 21year stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura. Corruption in implementation of rural development schemes continues unabated. There is a state government of Tripura eats up all the money which comes from the central government for development.
