Agartala, March 2 (TIWN): Opposing the anti-people general budget and Rail budget tabled by BJP government, Democratic Youth Federation of India’s state committee would sent at least 10000 letters to PMO and Union Finance Ministry on March 15, said DYFI’s state secretary Amal Chakraborty in a press meet at Chatra Yuba Bhawan, here today. The procedure of sending letters will be done through E-mail, Fax and Post from across the state, he said.
“Even with over 3 lakh vacant posts in Rail Department, no single was mentioned in the rail budget for fulfilling the vacant posts but the BJP government is planning for privatization move. If the government moves for Railway privatization, it will directly affect the unemployed youths”, said Chakraborty.
Terming the general budget as budget for corporate people, he further said, “The government has considered corporate sector for skipping tax of Rs. 398.62 crore while the funds for rural development and agriculture sector are being curtailed step by step affecting the unemployed youths of the country.”
He further state that, DYFI state committee would launch membership collection drive across the state from March 8 and continue tillMarch 15. “As many as 213 local committee, 2126 units and 6000 teams of DYFI would conduct the membership collection drive.
“Altogether 5, 87, 546 memberships were collected in last year while the number is expected more this year”, said Chakraborty. Over 60000 youths would start the campaign in the every corners of the state from March 08, he added.
Keeping the membership collection drive in view, the DYFI would hold a state level competition in different events in Agartala on March 4 and 5, said Chakraborty.
