Agartala, March 2 (TIWN): In a robbery incident, cash of total Rs. 2 lakh, gold ornaments, car, two mobile handsets were looted from a house of Rangali Para of Mainama under Chailangta police station here on Sunday night.

According to the complainant Sushil Mohan Tripura (owner of the house), altogether five miscreants entered into the house by scaling the western side of the boundary wall and then they entered into the main building through the door of new built kitchen room.

In the first room where Alokeswari Tripura, mother-in-law of complainant was sleeping, the door was unlocked. Thereafter the dacoit-gang entered into the room of Subimal Tripura, son of the complainant where he was assaulted and threatened not to shout. At the same time, his mobile and torchlight were reportedly snatched.

After that the 5-member gang of dacoits went to the room of complainant where he along with his wife Pratima Tripura was sleeping. After tying them, the gang covering faces with mask asked for keys of almirah and she gave the keys. As a result, the dacoits looted hard cash of Rs. 2 lakh, gold ornaments, and two mobile handsets.

Thereafter, the dacoits demanded the keys of one Swift Desire car (TR04-A-0646) and a motorcycle kept in the garage. After getting the keys, the gang of robbers fled away travelling in the car towards Manu which was noticed by the local village guards who were engaged in patrolling at night.

While the night guards stopped the car, the dacoits managed to move forward saying that they were carrying a serious patient to hospital. Then, the dacoits in vehicle moved towards Manu side and noticing the village guards at Mogbazar and Mainama, repeatedly mentioned that the patient died to mislead them.

However, the vehicle was recovered from an abandoned place of a tea garden in Bhagaban Nagar. A case (case no- 03-15 U/S 323/450/395) was registered of IPC. Efforts by police are on to detect the case and recovery of the stolen articles.

The complainant opined that involvement of at least one or two locals as guide in this robbery or active member is strongly suspected from the modus operandi of the gang of dacoits. The whole episode reveals that the members of the gang are Bengali speaking.
