AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): At a time when Chief Minister Manik Sarkar talking tough on Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT)’s link with the banned militant outfits here in Tripura, the IPFT President N C Debbarma on Sunday talking to TIWN demanded Manik sarkar to prove his allegations with necessary documents. “Being a Chief Minister how he can label serious allegation like CIA or ISI agent on any party or individual ? ”, Debbarma questioned adding that unless CM did not have any proof let him withdraw it, otherwise IPFT will continue multi-prong protest movement.Reacting sharply on Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s allegations against the IPFT, the IPFT President talking to TIWN accused that the left front govt. here in Tripura has been cheating and misguiding the people of the state, also staging a malicious campaign against the tribal based political parties ahead of the ADC election. “So far the state govt. has failed to prove IPFT’s link with the banned militant outfits,” Debbarma stated.

“There is enough power with the state govt. to take legal action against any individuals who have a link with the militant group,” he indicated. However it may be recalled here that CM Manik sarkar recently addressing a party gathering at Agartala said that a section of opposition political parties and the leaders have a close link with the banned militant group here in Tripura. “INPT and the IPFT are the two regional parties of the state have an unswerving contact with the NLFT militants”, alleged Manik sarkar.

Talking to TIWN earlier INPT General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma reacted sharply on it and said that CPIM led State Govt. has been singing old song every time ahead of any kind of elections here in the state. “The state govt. has failed to prove the INPT’s direct link with the banned NLFT militants till today; therefore there is enough power with law and order with the state govt. to take action against any individuals who have a link with the militant groups”, said Debbarma.

However it is mentionable here that the statement of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar must have triggered a series of clutter among a section of political parties ahead of the upcoming ADC election in the state.

Later asked about the issue of alliance ahead of the ADC election drawing near, the IPFT President N C Debbarma said that the IPFT will not move for any alliance with any other regional parties of the state for the ADC election.
