Tripura Jute Mill Karmachari Mancha holds state convention

Agartala, February 22 (TIWN): Pressing the Left Front ruled state government for fulfilling 10-point charter of pending demands; Tripura Jute Mills Karmachari Mancha (TJMKM) conducted its first triennial state convention at TB Association hall in Agartala here today.

 During the convention, general secretary of TJMKM- Joy Kumar Das in his secretarial report alleged that despite several requests and protest, the state government did not adopt any initiative to fulfill the prolonged demands of jute mill employees.

He further alleged that the state government maintains to curtail the jute mill step by step by playing anti-jute mill and anti-employee role. The jute mill is also running with shortage of staffs for long time.

To get relief from this hazard situation, he urged the jute mill employees to stage massive protest cutting across the party line under the banner of Tripura Jute Mill Karmachari Mancha.

The main demands of TJMKM are; hike their salary and structure it like the PSU workers, to introduce pension benefit for the jute mill employees, to cancel industrial DA by releasing state government’s DA, to provide gratuity money of Rs. 10, 00, 000 to the jute mill workers after retirement and to introduce promotion by maintaining educational qualification, SC/ST roaster.
