'Congress’s ADC Election Charisma'! NSUI to visit Delhi seeking hike in budget allocation in ADC area’s education

Agartala, February 20 (TIWN): Apart from Demanding a hike in budget allocation for the students in Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas and pass percentage among the students and ensuring quality education are some of the agenda, capitalising on which the students wing of the Congress National Students Union of India (NSUI) will stage demonstration in the national capital in the coming month of March. “The date is not yet fixed” said NSUI President Bapi Das, today, while talking to the media in a press meet, held at Congress Bhawan.

Comprising as many as two hundred representatives from all the sixty constituencies of the state the team will hold sit-in demonstration infront of the Jantar Mantar. “Our Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Mrs. Sonia Gandhi too have extended their support and association with us as regards the same movement”, said Bapi Das. Besides, the NSUI today has taken on Chief Executive Member (CEM) of ADC Radhacharan Debbarma for not giving due significance to the students.

Meanwhile, NSUI’s national leadership Dipak Negi (Secretary in charge of Tripura) was also present in the meeting today where he has spoken about various programmes and agenda to mark the 125th birth anniversary of  Jawahar Lal Nehru and these include state level convention, district level quiz anmd sports events among others. “Out of sixty assembly constituencies only four are represented by the women and relating to the same, we would speak in support of more women representation”, said Dipak Negi aprt from devising a women college in each district so that large number of girls can go to colleges with ease.   

While replying to a question of TIWN correspondent as how the union will deliver the responsibility as NSUI does not own even a single student council in all the general degree colleges of the state Mr.Negi said: “We are not a political organization and we are not here to obtain power as whether we are in power or not we will fight out for the welfare of students”
