AGARTALA, February 20 (TIWN): The Tripura Jute Mill Karmachari Mancha (TJMKM) to organize its 1st triennial state level delegate conference on February 22 at Agartala TB Association Hall, IGM Hospital. Talking to TIWN today the TJMKM General Secretary Joy Kumar Das said that during the conference the organization will press for certain pending demands with the state govt.
Talking to TIWN today the TJMKM President Khirod Mohan Sarkar targeting the state govt. over their deprivation alleged that the long term demand of the Jute Mill employees has not been fulfilled yet by the state govt. inspite of their several movements. Highlighting the demands of the Jute Mill employees Mr. Sarkar said that their prime demands are to hike their salary and structure it like the PSU workers, to start pension facility. Besides, he alleged that they are getting less payment from Rs 12000 to Rs. 27000 every month in- spite of order by High Court. Even the secretary of Law department opined to pay the pending salary and allowances of the Jute Mill employees. But the state government appealed to Supreme Court to avoid implementation of the verdict of the High Court.
Beside, the Tripura jute mill is also running shortage of staffs. In this regard Mr. Sarkar said that during the conference on February 22, the TJMKM will also press the state govt. to increase the jute mill staffs recruiting people.
