Kailashahar, February 17 (TIWN): In the so called golden era of CPI-M ruled state government, no toilet existing for the students and lady teachers at Chantail Madhyamik School in Kailashahar sub-division. Despite several requests for setting up a toilet, the Head Master of the school remained silent till date.
According to a source of school, in the annual report for the year 2014-15, the Head Master has reportedly mentioned that two toilets for ladies and gents exist in the school and submitted to the District Education Officer, Unokoti in a recent past.
Though, construction of a new building is in progress in the school but no initiative has been made to set up a toilet so far, said the source.
The source further informed that around Rs. 1.5 lakh was allotted by the School Education Department for infrastructural development in Chantail Madhyamik School during the financial year 2014-15. Though, the fund was utilized in other works of school but the demand of students and teachers for constructing a toilet remained unfulfilled till date, the source added.
Asked about the issue, Unokoti district coordinator of Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) - Deepak Paul smoothly denied to making any statement.
As a result, over two hundred students and teachers including 8 lady teachers have been facing several problems.
On the other hand, allegation has been raised by the locals over the poor quality construction of a new building at Chantail Madhyamik School.
According to the locals, Supriya Biswas, an engineer of Rural Development Department, who is assigned to complete the construction, is often remains absent in the site.
