AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Brijesh Pandey on Sunday told media that the election department there is ready with all preparations related to Special Intensive Revision (SIR); and whenever it would be needed, the department can go ahead.

“No direction has come yet but following the pre-issued guidelines, everything which is necessary for SIR processing is on track,” he said.

“The Commission has nationwide declared SIR. The process started phase-wise — as you know, it started from Bihar in the first phase and then in the second phase it started in 12 UTs — but no date was issued for Tripura — now whenever it is necessary it can be run here,” he said.

However, regarding election dates, the CEO said there is no hint yet regarding when the election would happen.
