JAMPUIJALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): A poor tea seller Sahid Mia’s family received Rs. 92,656 electricity bills after a smart meter was installed in their house.

The incident happened in Promod Nagar village, Ward No-1, under Jampuijala.

After receiving the bill, Sahid Mia fell sick, according to his family.

The family appealed to Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath to inspect the billing method, as the amount is beyond their financial capacity.
