AGARTALA, Sep 22 (TIWN): Amid cheers and Modi chants in Udaipur on Monday, something unusual happened. BJP Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy on Monday broke into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security cordon with dozens of his supporters, violating police instructions. The MLA was spotted arguing with police officials and eventually broke the protocols by entering with his dozens of supporters.
A mass gathering was witnessed across Udaipur, centering Modi's visit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Matabari Development Project under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme, an initiative aimed at enhancing pilgrimage infrastructure in Tripura. The project is expected to transform Matabari, one of the most significant Shakti Peeths in the region, into a modern pilgrimage hub while preserving its spiritual essence.
On his arrival in the state, the Prime Minister was accorded a warm welcome by the Governor of Tripura and the Chief Minister. Both dignitaries extended greetings and expressed their appreciation for the Centre’s support in strengthening the cultural and developmental landscape of the state.
The inauguration drew a large gathering of citizens, officials, and local representatives who witnessed the occasion with enthusiasm. The Matabari project, under the PRASAD scheme, is set to provide improved facilities for devotees, encourage heritage tourism, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
