Agartala, February 10 (TIWN): Golden Girl of Tripura on Tuesday returned to her homestate Tripura after bagging five Gold Medals in the Asian Games held at Kerala. Thousands of people were eagerly waiting at the premises of Agartala Airport to witness the pride and glory.
After seeing the overwhelming response of the people, Dipa told; this victory was possible with the help of her coach, Bisheswar Nandi, parents and last but not the least, the common people of the State which acted as a inspiring tonic to her.”
It is known that in "Individual All Round Championship" and other events, Dipa succeeded to conquer 5 gold medals. Among them in Floor exercise, Dipa obtained top most position by securing 13 points. Aruna Reddy of Andhra Pradesh achieved second position and Pranati nayek of Madhya Pradesh achieved third position. In Balance beam, Dipa conquered 13.33 points. Except Volting table, in other sectors nobody was able to give a tough competition to Dipa.
But on the other hand, State Government only showed their responsibility by congratulating Dipa on her splendid success. Earlier, Dipa also expressed her grievance over the attitude of State Government. She said, “after achieving the grand success, no initiative had been taken on behalf of State Government to establish infrastructure which in some extent acts as a barrier for the sports personsand Gymnastics of this small hilly State".
