Kumaraghat, July 21, 2025 (TIWN): Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma inspected the girls' and boys' hostels of the Eklavya Model Residential School in Kumaraghat on Monday.
During the visit, he interacted with the students and took stock of the overall situation of the school.
The students informed the minister that the quality of education has improved significantly compared to previous years, and their exam results are also better. However, the girl students complained about the scarcity of drinking water and water for daily use in the girls' hostel, causing difficulties in their daily activities.
The minister expressed deep concern over the issue and instructed the school authorities to resolve the problem at the earliest. He also inspected the boys' hostel and interacted with the students, taking note of the facilities and problems.
After the inspection, the minister said that the quality of education in Eklavya Model Residential Schools has improved significantly compared to previous years, and the pass percentage of students has also increased. He emphasized that the state government is committed to improving the quality of education for tribal students.
